Ocean in a Bottle

This project was so easy and fun to make. My daughter loves making waves in the bottle and watching the fish swim around and the shells float. Here's how we did it.



For this project you will need a hot glue gun, a plastic bottle filled a little more than half way with water, cooking oil, shells, plastic fish, a funnel and blue and green food coloring.

My daughter added one drop of blue and one drop of green food coloring. Then we put the cap on and mixed the colors.

Next we added in the plastic fish and shells.

 Last, but not least, we filled the bottle the rest of the way with cooking oil and I hot glued the cap onto the bottle. Once we let it separate a little we rocked the bottle back and forth to create waves.
